Clearalif vs Earth Breeze: Laundry Detergent Sheets

Overview

"Plastic waste makes up an estimated 80% of marine pollution. About 10 million metric tons of plastic waste enter the oceans each year", said the National Institute of Environmental Health.

In almost all studies on marine pollution, there's always greater levels of plastic pollution, which makes more people become cautious of the product they are using and their impact on our environment.

In whatever way you can to reduce environmental impact, say goodbye to heavy bulky plastic containers of detergents can be the simplest one.

Clearalif and Earth Breeze, two eco brands selling dissolvable laundry detergent sheets, are just right here to offer an option to revolutionize our laundry.

But which one is right for you?

Unsurprisingly, the detergent sheets of these two leading brands are quite similar in concepts.

Both Clearalif and Earth Breeze are commited to eliminating plastic waste and reducing carbon footprint without sacraficing convenience and cleaning power, thus lead you to a sustainable style of washing clothes.

A Comparison Between Clearalif and Earth Breeze

Clearalif

Cost

Among many leading brands of eco detergent sheets, Clearalif is one of the most resonably priced detergent. On Clearalif website, the on-sale price is $16.69 per pack (80 sheets, 160 loads), which is $0.2 per sheet and $0.1 per load. Compare to one-off purchases, you can use their subscription method on Amazon to receive the products every 2~3 months, which is a more budget-friendly option. Amazon price says $12.69 per pack ($0.08/load) for a one-time purchase.

Formula

Clearalif offers fragrance-free and fresh linen detergents. The unscented version is very suitable for people who are highly sensitive to the smell and you have to stick your nose right up against the sheets to smell anything at all.

The ingredients Clearalif has listed include AQUA(water), Sodium dodecyl sulfate, Polyvinyl Alcohol(PVA), Glycerin, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers, Sodium citrate, Saponins, 2-Phenoxyethanol, Protease enzyme, plus Fragrance in the fresh linen detergents.

Clearalif creates clean formula with mild surfactant and biodegradable enzymes to protect sensitive skin from irritation.

Cold and Hot Water

Clearalif detergent sheets are designed to dissolve in water at any temperature, which makes it very suitable for travel with no need to add water of fair temperature.

Washing Machines

There's no worry to use these sheets in standard or/and HE machines because they perform well in any washers.

Pros

  • Easily and quickly dissolve in hot and cold water
  • Stain and odor remover
  • 100% plastic-free biodegradable packaging
  • Hypoallergenic formula
  • Budget-friendly
  • Lightweight and compact for easy storage
  • Cons

  • Limited range of products
  • Fresh linen version is highly scented
  • Not tested to guarantee safely use for pregnant women and babies
  • Customer Reviews

This is the old version of Clearalif detergent from the video.

    Earth Breeze

    Cost

The price of Earth Breeze is a bit more expensive than Clearalif that 60 loads/30 sheets are $15 total sold from Earth Breeze website, which means $0.25 per load and $0.5 per sheet.

For a one-time purchase, Earth Breeze at Amazon costs $15.99($0.27/load, $0.53/sheet). Though it costs less if you subscribe to receive these sheets regularly, the price is still a little expensive.

    Formula

Earth Breeze offers the same as Clearalif with two versions of detergents: fragrance-free and fresh scent.

The ingredients in unscented detergents include: Glycerol, Primary Alcohol Ethoxylate, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, Sodium Acetate Trihydrate, Polyvinyl alcohol, Polyethylene Glycol, Deionized Water, and Starch(Corn).

And the scented version includes Glycerol, Primary Alcohol Ethoxylate, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, Sodium Acetate Trihydrate, Polyvinyl alcohol, Polyethylene Glycol, Deionized Water, Essence, and Starch(Corn).

Both Clearalif and Earth Breeze are vegan-free and do not test on animals.

    Cold and Hot Water

There are reviews from Amazon to say that these sheets can't dissolve completely and correctly in cold/hard water and sometimes the clothes came out of dryer with white sticky goop spots to ruin the colored clothes. I use several times of Earth Breeze and the sheets did fulfil the promise of working in warm/hot water but they did not dissolve properly in cold or hard water just like other customers have complainted.

    Washing Machines

As these sheets can't dissolve all the way in cold water, you need to add fairly warm water to your usual wash cycle, which is not that convenient.

    Pros

  • Stain and odor remover
  • 100% plastic-free biodegradable packaging
  • Hypoallergenic formula
  • Lightweight and compact for easy storage
  • Cons

  • Can't perform well in hard water
  • A bit expensive
  • Fresh scent version is overpowering
  • Customer Reviews

    Summary

Considering all the factors from the above comparison, I suggest Clearalif laundry detergent sheets to be the best go-to for earth-friendly and effective detergent.

Clearalif and Earth Breeze are both socially responsible brands that provide eco-friendly laundry detergent for people who are looking to switch from traditional powders and liquid detergents.

Earth Breeze has made itself as one of the most famous leading brands in the field of laundry detergent sheets which is purchased and well known by a lot of people.

Compared to the reputation of Earth Breeze, Clearalif is a start-up with a limited range of products, but Clearalif never skimps on delivering practical, affordable products of eco values without sacrificing their cleaning power.

Clearalif please make a sample pack of the scents you offer. I bought lavender and like it but would like to try the other scents without committing to a full pack. On a side note, the lavender we are using is great. My husband didn’t know I had switched and made a positive comment on his clean clothes.

Interesting that the author (Scarlet Thompson?) writes just like a person in China that speaks poor english?

How about this sentence … could the english be worse?
